The SuperGREENLABELFoods project involves six partners from three different countries (Greece, Italy and Spain) and aims at providing innovative methodologies to people directly involved with cultivation, collection, production, packaging and promotion of super-foods, aromatic-medical herbs and forest fruits, in order to enhance their basic professional skills as their ICT skills, through vocational training activities, strengthening their competitiveness on the market together with their products.
SuperGREENLABELFoods strongly relates to the importance of the cultivation of superfoods & medicinal herbs, which are highly nutritious food for humans. Other than their consumption, their cultivation is important to the pharmaceutical and plants-pharmaceutical industry that use them for the preparation of herbal medicines and nutritional supplements. They are also used in cosmetic industries as natural pigments.
All the partner countries – Greece, Spain and Italy – combine all the conditions required for high volume/ performance production since the main characteristic of most of these plants is their adaptability to the soil and the climate of these countries, producing a satisfactory fructification.
The most relevant priorities and topics addressed by SuperGREENLABELFoods aim at ensuring that vocational training in agriculture is provided and organized in an effective, systematic and coordinated programme, in order to provide knowledge for agricultural workers who want to specialize on superfood and aromatic-herbal herbs; to improve their competencies in this sector and to ensure the harmonization of super foods with the ISO norms and agro-food certifications.
